Chapin High School students and teachers recognized the fifteenth annual Day of Silence on Friday April 16. As part of school wide effort to stop orientation based bullying and to promote GLBT issues awareness, the Chapin chapter of the Gay-Straight Alliance sponsored the day’s events. Students met early in the morning to paint faces with this year’s message: NOH8.
The GSA also composed a message read during the morning announcements in memory of individuals who have been “silenced” over their gender orientation. In conjunction with the day’s theme of support, students refrained from speaking as much as possible.
