A flash slowly explodes down the hallway. Students patiently cheer as it passes a man who calculates in a chair. The flash crashes into the wall, halting its momentum and ending the screams of support. The infamous roll of measuring tape is dragged out, and the race is over.

In late February, the physics classes of Mr. Rob Schiferl participated in the annual Mousetrap car derby. Pitting students and their skill in design and engineering along with principles learned in class against one another, these races did not disappoint. While no student was successful in reaching the supreme goal of nailing the hallway window with their car, the project succeeded in guiding the students through the kinetic and potential motion unit of class.
